Purpose of the role

The Payroll Specialist will work closely with the Finance team to deliver weekly and monthly payroll runs accurately and within strict deadlines.

Key Function

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll runs accurately and on time.
  • Verify and process expense claims.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
  • Handle employee payroll-related inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Liaise with HR and finance team to ensure accurate data integration.
  • Assist with audits by preparing necessary payroll documentation.
  • Process deductions such as benefits.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices.

Qualifications and  Skills

  • Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally within a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Good communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Certification in payroll (e.g., IPASS) or relevant HR / Payroll qualification highly desirable

Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the healthcare sector extremely desirable
  • Experience in working in a growing and changing environment
