Head of Business Development
What is the position
The Head of Business Development is responsible for developing and executing the organisation’s commercial strategies to drive revenue growth. This role involves overseeing sales, marketing, business development, and customer relationship management functions. The Head of Business Development plays a critical role in identifying business opportunities, building strong partnerships, and ensuring the organization’s products or services meet customer needs and market demands.
Location: Sandyford, Dublin South (hybrid working)
Type of Contract: Full time permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications and Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven track record of success in commercial leadership roles (5 years+).
- Demonstrate the values and principles required to uphold and maintain the culture and mission of the organisation.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with CRM software and data analytics tools.
- Leadership qualities, including team management and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential areas for growth within the home healthcare sector.
Sales and Business Development
- Lead in achieving revenue targets and expanding the customer base.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations.
Marketing and Brand Management
- Oversee marketing initiatives to enhance brand awareness and promote services effectively.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns, digital strategies, and advertising efforts.
- Analyze marketing data and customer insights to refine marketing approaches and improve ROI.
Pricing and Contract Negotiation
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance to set competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate contracts, Service Agreements, and terms with clients, vendors, and partners.
Customer Relationship Management
- Focus on customer satisfaction and retention strategies to build long-term relationships.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to enhance products/services and customer experience.
Team Leadership
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Utilize data analytics to assess business development performance, customer behavior, and market trends.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
- Work closely with operations, finance and other departments to ensure seamless integration of business development strategies with overall company operations.
