Community Support Worker – Outreach & Supported Living, Co. Clare

What is the Role?

The Community Support Worker will support service users in the Community with their individual personal goals targeted towards education, leisure, employment and independent living skills in line with their person-centred plans.

Our aim is to ensure that each person we support achieves their optimum potential.

Locations:

Bunratty (Outreach)

  • Shifts are Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. (successful candidate would work approx. 2 days per week in this service)
  • Focus on community access and activities e.g. horse-riding, swimming, music therapy, lunch out, walks, day trips, mass, etc.
  • 1:1 support
  • Service vehicle available, own car not required (but licence for manual vehicle essential)

Shannon (Supported Living), Co. Clare

  • Shifts are 7 days per week and include day time, evening, sleepover, weekends, and bank holidays (successful candidate would work approx. one shift per week in this service – could be
    weekday or weekend)
  • 1:2 support ratio (one staff on shift at a time)
  • Home based support with community access
  • Service vehicle available, own car not required (but licence formanual vehicle essential)

Job type: Permanent part-time contract of 20 hours per week

Requirements: 

  • Experience working in disability services/as a healthcare assistant.
  • Experience with personal/intimate care.
  • Level 5 Qualification in Healthcare, Childcare, Social Care, or similar. Level 5 in other disciplines also considered.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • Full, clean Irish driving licence for a manual car (essential)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts (weekend shifts would be once or twice a month)
