Home from Home is an Afterschool Respite service in Killarney for Children aged four years and over.

Providing a fun and supportive meaningful engagement, afterschool service to Children and teenagers with disabilities.

 

Location: Killarney, Co Kerry
Type of contract: Part time
Hours of work: After School 2pm/2.30pm to 6pm weekdays.

Closed Bank holidays and Sundays.

Skills Required

  • Full Driver’s license
  • Qualification in Childcare, Youth and Community Work, Social Care or Healthcare (not essential)
  • Skills or Qualification in areas such as drama, dance, music, baking/ cooking and arts are welcome.
  • Experience with providing personal care.
  • Experience and knowledge of supporting people with behaviours of concern.
  • Knowledge and understanding safeguarding.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support with accessing the local community
  • Support with Leisure Skills & Social Skills (swimming, horse-riding)
  • Increase levels of independence and daily living skills
  • Personal/intimate care
