The Role
As Person in Charge, you are the registered leader of a residential service for people with disabilities. You will lead your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care in a safe, respectful, and empowering environment.
You will create a culture where:
- Residents feel at home
- Staff feel supported and motivated
- Quality and dignity are lived, not just measured
Key Responsibilities
- Lead person-centred, rights-based support planning
- Oversee health, wellbeing, and clinical governance (including medication management)
- Manage, develop, and inspire your team
- Ensure service quality and HIQA compliance
- Lead inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and incident review processes
- Build strong relationships with families, MDTs, and stakeholders
- Manage budgets and ensure responsible financial stewardship
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a values-driven leader who combines strong operational capability with genuine care for people.
You will have:
- A relevant health or social care qualification
- QQI Level 7 (preferred)
- QQI Level 5 (essential)
- A QQI Level 6 Management Qualification (essential)
- Management experience in disability or social care services
- Experience in HIQA-regulated environments
- A proven ability to lead teams and deliver high-quality, person-centred care
