What is the Position?
You will be a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) working in advanced community care, providing one-to-one home support for an adult client.
Location: Ballinahown, Connemara, Galway
Hours: 12hr shifts
What is the Role?
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide professional, high-quality, and person-centred care to individuals with additional needs. Working as part of a supportive team and in consultation with each service user, you will play a vital role in their daily life and overall well-being.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting clients with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:

Personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, oral care)

Dressing and undressing
-
Toileting and continence care
-
Mobility assistance
-
Eating and drinking (including feeding if required)

Monitoring and recording vital signs (where trained and required)
-
Supporting clients’ emotional, psychological, and social well-being

Promoting independence and dignity at all times

Assisting with light housekeeping and meal preparation
-
Reporting any changes in a client’s condition to nursing staff or nurse manager
-
Adhering to infection control and health & safety guidelines
What is Required?
You will have:
- FETAC/QQI level 5/Social Care/healthcare assistant qualification or equivalent;
- Completed or be willing to complete a Patient Manual Handling course;
- Eligibility to work in Ireland;
- A strong sense of empathy, flexibility and a team-oriented work ethic.
- Previous experience supporting adults/children with disabilities is an advantage
