Our progressive Advanced Community Care specialist division takes specialist supports out of institutions and into the homes and communities of those with complex needs. We’re now seeking a Van Driver to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring reliable, safe, and compassionate transportation for our client within Co. Wexford.
Location: Gorey, Co. Wexford
Type of contract: 36-Hour Specified Purpose Contract
Hours of work: Three days per week (day shifts only), subject to scheduling needs

Skills Required
As a Van Driver supporting an individual with complex physical needs, you should:

Hold a full clean driving licence
-
Have at least 2 years’ relevant driving experience
-
Ideally have disability awareness and experience transporting clients with limited mobility (desirable but not essential)

Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Be reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently

Have patient moving and handling skills – full training will be provided if necessary
Job Responsibilities
You will:

Transport a client using a wheelchair-adapted van to college and various locations in Co. Wexford, ensuring timely and safe travel

Ensure the client is safely clamped and secured at all times during transport

Assist the client when boarding and exiting the vehicle using proper lifting techniques
-
Carry out daily safety checks and maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and roadworthiness

Report any hazards, incidents, or required repairs to the Nurse Manager promptly
-
Promote a respectful, person-centred approach to care during all interactions
-
Foster a positive and reliable service experience for the client
