New Directions Day Service seeking

Support Worker in Naas and Clane, Co Kildare

 

Opportunity to supplement contractual hours through children’s outreach and adult residential services/children’s residential services if desired.

35 hours per week – No night shifts, no Sundays, no bank holidays

New Directions offers individualised Day Service Support including leisure activities, education, employment opportunities and social skills, for adults who are transitioning from school or rehabilitation and training support services.

This Role: 

  • Community Support Worker
  • 35 hour contract
  • Supporting Individuals to access employment, sports and community activities
  • Flexible hours – typical shifts – 9 am to 3 pm

What we require

  • A Full Drivers Licence is essential
  • Qualification in Social & Healthcare (not essential)
  • Skills or Qualifications in areas such as psychology, advocacy and arts are welcome
  • Experience with personal care
  • Experience and knowledge of supporting people with behaviours of concern
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Training provided – Positive Behaviour Support, Understanding Autism and ID, Person Centered Planning and Goat Setting, MAPA, SOVA and Children First
